We are sure that in your research you have found that most facilities are opposed to the hiring of visa physicians. There are several reasons why this may be. First, they may feel that a job is being taken away from an American physician. Regardless of whether an American even wants the job, every facility/employer believes the position he is offering is desirable. The administrators generally believe that if they wait for the right American doctor, he or she will be much more likely to stay than a Foreign Medical Grad (FMG).

Second, over the years the belief has developed in HPSA/underserved communities that a visa physician only wants to obtain a Green Card - and the day after she is eligible, she will decide to leave the current job for a better one elsewhere. Unfortunately this is often true. You, as the visa physician, cannot remove this stigma.

Third, the paper work involved in getting you a waiver for a position is enormous. It is difficult to accomplish this on your own. We have the experience and connections that will help you through the process.
