Recruitment Process

 

The following is a detailed example of the steps in the recruiting process:

 

Contract signed with the Susan Craig Associates (SCA).

Contact person on-site (and back-up person) are designated by the Hospital.

 

 

Candidates identified and pre-screened by Susan Craig Associates.

 

 

Susan Craig Associates sends C.V. of candidate to Hospital contact.

 

 

Information package sent from Hospital representative's office within 24 hours.

 

 

Candidate is called within 48 hours.

If congenial, candidate is invited to the Hospital for a site-visit during the call.

 

 

Hospital representative debriefs the call with Susan Craig Associates.

 

 

Hospital representative contacts candidate to confirm receipt of the package, and to finalize dates for a site-visit.

 

 

Air flights arranged as needed.

(Generally the candidate will book the tickets,

but occasionally the Hospital or SCA will).

 

 

Hospital arranges the meals and accommodations for the site-visit.

 

 

Hospital arranges a welcome committee and plans the visit dependent on the interests of the candidate. SCA assists with the planning.

 

 

Hospital and SCA create an itinerary,

which is sent to the candidate and all participants.

 

 

Candidate arrives for his/her site-visit.

Welcoming committee includes people who share the candidates areas of personal interests.

 

 

Dinner with a medical staff member and family.

 

 

Tour of the community and area.

(This should include a real estate tour, shopping, schools, etc).

 

 

Physician candidate returns home.

 

 

Committee and/or Hospital sends flowers and greetings to candidate's home.

 

 

Within two days time, Hospital sends a follow up letter to the candidate.

 

 

If a verbal offer has been made references and credentials are checked and accepted.

 

 

Hospital sends letter of intent / contract to candidate.

 

 

Candidate applies for hospital privileges...

 

 

YES!

 

 

Board approval?...

 

 

YES!

 

 

Physician accepted.

 

 

Retention plan developed specifically for each candidate.
