If you are ready for a change and would enjoy living in an exciting waterfront city, you may want to consider a position with the progressive and energetic Emergency team at Windsor Regional Hospital. This is a great opportunity for an experienced Emergency Physician who wants a nice life style and excellent income.

This is the southernmost city in Canada and its benign climate favors the wineries that surround it. It boasts a lively downtown, waterfront parkland, miles of recreational and bike trails as well as the vital link with Detroit, Michigan (population 5 million) directly across the Ambassador Bridge.

This hospital is one of two acute care hospitals in the area, serving a catchment population of 400,000. The hospital has undergone recent extensive renovations including a new Emergency Department (with EMR), ORs, ICU and CCU. The Emergency Department occupies approximately 17,000 sq. ft, with 31 examining rooms, 24/7 CT and Ultrasound coverage, PACS and excellent specialty and subspecialty backup. The annual number of ED visits is approximately 56,000.

The Emergency team is a very energetic, collegial group of 15 physicians. Shift length varies from 7 – 12 hours and full time employment is 12 – 15 shifts per month. The compensation structure is superb (up to $450K yearly), blending an hourly base wage and shadow billings. Work schedules are flexible and many of the Emergency physicians teach at the University.
